Violin Maker in glasgow
Matthew was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1985. Born into a musical family, he started to play the violin at the age of 9. He played in state honors orchestra growing up, and in the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire orchestra for two years.
In 2009, Matthew enrolled at Red Wing College to study guitar and violin making. Upon completion of luthiery school, Matthew moved to Asheville, North Carolina, to work for master luthier Tom Fellenbaum, repairing fine instruments at the Acoustic Corner, and learning restoration techniques.
In 2014 Matthew moved to Glasgow, Scotland, where he focuses on making new violins. He also offers repair work and sound adjustment. He continues to play violin in the community group Glasgow Symphony Orchestra.
